The university provides education start from school level to post graduation level. At present, the university offers more than 280 courses in traditional and modern branch of education in its 14 faculties. Aligarh Muslim University not only draws students from different parts of India but also from Africa, West Asia and South East Asia. In AMU, there is reservation for students from SAARC and Commonwealth Countries. Maulana Azad Library is regarded as the second largest University Library of Asia with more than 11.5 lakh books and documents. The most priced collections of the library is its collection of about 16000 rare manuscripts.
