St. John's Medical College, Bangalore was established in 1963.The college is one of India's premier medical institutions. The college is part of the St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences run by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India.The college annually accepts 60 students for the MBBS undergraduate course based on a national entrance exam.The college also accepts over 30 postgraduate students to a number of medical specialties. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council, a Review Committee of the University Grants Commission, has recognized the excellence of St. John's Medical College and Hospital and accorded it with a 5 star grading.
