Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is one of the premier institutes in the country for Law education. It is one of the 12 National Law Universities in India. Gujarat National Law University was established through Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003. GNLU was inaugurated in July 2004. Admission to GNLU is through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), which is conducted for admission to 11 national Law universities.

Gujarat National Law University is situated in Gandhinagar. The university offers three 5 year undergraduate law programs to the student are B.A LL.B. (Hons), B.Sc LL.B. (Hons) & B.Com LL.B. (Hons). GNLU is recognized by UGC and Bar Council of India. It is a fully residential University.



GNLU Eligibility Criteria

A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams can also apply.
In addition, a candidate should be under 20 years (22 years for reserved categories) before 1st July of the appearing year.
Candidate appearing in the qualifying examination can also appear provisionally. However, they shall have to produce proof of having passed the qualifying exam before or at the time of counseling with detailed mark sheet. Candidates with compartment / supplementary in any subject in the qualifying examination are not eligible for GNLU admission.

GNLU Syllabus

As it accepts the CLAT examination, scores the CLAT syllabus will be applicable and no specific syllabus is maintained for the entrance exam of GNLU.

GNLU Examination

Since the admission to GNLU is through CLAT candidates need to apply for CLAT. Candidates can get the form of CLAT through designated branches of Indian Bank, State bank of India and all National Law Schools. Candidates can also download the form through the website www.clat.ac.in . The candidates that are interested in earning their application form through post have to forward a requisite letter mentioning the registration number at the top.
The admission to law programs is purely made based on the candidate’s performance in the CLAT exam. It is compulsory to appear for the CLAT entrance exam. The application form can be downloaded from the university website.
The candidates have to fill in the application form properly. The duly completed form along with the required documents must be sent to the given address. Forms that are received after the last date will not be taken into consideration and no correspondence will be made.
