IAF (Indian Air Force) Airman Exam for non-technical trades is conducted for recruiting candidates in to the defense sector. The exam, which is conducted by Central Airmen Selection Board, is especially meant for male candidates. These exams are conducted two times in a year, which happens in the months of August and April. The Central Airmen Selection Board conducts this exam to select candidates who can perform different functions in IAF. The functions of Airman vary from weather forecasting to manipulation and updating of files and records.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate who attends the Airman non-technical trade exam must possess a pass in 10th class or equivalent. They must possess an aggregate of 45% marks along with the following qualifications. The aspirant who wants to attend non-technical trade exam must be an Indian Citizen. Foreign nationals of Indian origin are also eligible to apply for the exam. Those aspirants who are citizens of Bhutan or Nepal or Tibet are also eligible to apply for the examination. Only those candidates with the marital status of single can apply for this examination. Physical qualifications in the specified manner are also required for selection. Height required for the aspirant is 152.5 cm or above. The weight of the candidate must be in proportion to the height. He must be free of any contagious diseases and must have normal hearing ability. The chest width must be 75cm or above and eye vision must be at least 6/12 in each eye without glasses. Candidate who wishes to attend Airman non-technical trade exam must fall with in an age group of 16 and 19. The age relaxation for reserved groups is provided on the basis of the rules and regulations fixed by IAF.

Mode of Exam

The exam scheme for Airman non-technical trade exam consists of two sections. First sections includes questions on English language such as comprehension, punctuation etc. This section also includes questions on tenses, parts of speech and transformation of simple sentences. The second section contains questions on intelligence and general knowledge. In this section, the aspirant can expect questions from Indian history and geography. They can also expect questions on sports, inventions, etc. The aspirant has to pass each section separately.
