National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) admits students to its BA LLB course through CLAT. National University of Advanced Legal Studies is one of the 12 national law universities in the country. NUALS is amongst the famous judicial institutions of India, which was founded by state of Kerala as national level law Institute.
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies was founded in 2005 by virtue of act 27. This university is managed by the Bar Council of Kerala and Bar Council of Kerala Trust. It is considered as the heart and soul of an institution imparting quality education. This university distributes all sorts of study materials to the students and conducts special training programs. National University of Advanced Legal Studies is situated in the city of Kochi in Kerala. It provides 5 years BA LLB (Hons.) and has 65 seats for the program out of which 41 seats are reserved for Open category candidates. NUALS is considered a highly reputed institute for law education in the country.Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in the appearing year can also apply.
- In addition, a candidate should be under 20 years (22 years for reserved categories) before 1 July in the appearing year.
- Scheduled Caste / Tribe candidates are eligible for relaxation of 5%. Candidates who have appeared / are appearing and awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Syllabus
As it accepts the CLAT examination, scores the CLAT syllabus will be applicable and no specific syllabus is maintained for the entrance exam of NUALS. The questions will cover

- Reasoning Ability
- Numerical Aptitude
- Legal Aptitude
Examination
Prospectus and application form can be had from the office of the University on payment of Rs.750/- by cash or DD drawn on any Scheduled Bank in favor of the "National University of Advanced Legal Studies" payable at Ernakulam. For applicants belonging to SC / ST, the cost of Prospectus and Application form shall be Rs.375/- on production of proof of community.
Application can also be had by post by sending a DD for Rs.800/- for general candidates and Rs.425/- for SC / ST candidates. Applications and Prospectus can also be downloaded from the website www.nuals.ac.in in such cases, the filled in application should be accompanied by a DD for Rs.750/- (Rs.375/- for SC/ST) drawn in favor of NUALS payable at Ernakulam.
Out of 65 seats, 5 seats are reserved for candidates from outside Kerala State. Reservation of Seats for SC / ST Backward and other Backward Classes shall be as prevalent for the professional courses in the State. Seats are reserved for PH candidates also.
