University of Hyderabad is a central university situated in Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. It is a premier institution of post graduate teaching and research and was established on 2nd October, 1974. The University of Hyderabad also offers courses under distance learning programs. It was recently named as no. 1 University in the country in the research and development arena. The university is situated at GachiBowli, at a distance of 20kms from the city of Hyderabad on the old Hyderabad-Bombay highway.
There are 8 hostels for men and 5 hostels for women provided by the University to stay in. There is a shopping complex inside the campus and a health care center for students. The University of Hyderabad also promotes numerous cultural activities throughout the year. It also offers a wide variety of courses to enrich the students with quality and specialized education. The University offers facilities for Post-Graduate, 5 -Year Integrated Master’s Degree Courses, and Research Studies in several major areas in Sciences, Engineering Sciences & Technology, Management Studies, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Humanities, Medical Sciences, Fine Arts and in Communication.
