NERIST (North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology), located at Nirjuli, Itanagar, in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, was established by the Government of India as a technical institute for science and technology. It opened to students in 1986. Recently management studies have also been incorporated and the programme has been highly successful. The institute also offers various short term technical courses.
