Veer Bahadur Purvanchal University , erstwhile Purvanchal University is located in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the educational hubs of eastern Uttar Pradesh,established in 1987 as a residential-cum-affiliating university which is named after Late Shri Vir Bahadur Singh, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Continuous qualitative & quantitative growth, excellence in academic & administrative activities and transparent & efficient administration of more than 200 colleges have been some of the distinct factors for which the university is striving and on the basis of the same, the university has emerged as one of the leading universities of the country.
