S.S.M College of Engineering was established in 1998.The college was founded by Shri. S.S.M. Subramaniam under the aegis of the S.S.M. Foundation trust as a unique centre of learning, offering a broad curriculum which gives equal emphasis to academics, creative activities and sports. Its lush green campus located in Komarapalayam on National High way 47, between Salem and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, India. It provides a fine setting for its staff and students to share the joy of learning. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) issued approval to commence the academic programmes from 1998-99. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.
