Pt Ravishankar Shukla University is one of the leading and oldest institutions of higher education in Chhattisgarh. It was founded in 1964, and named after the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. The University has a sprawling campus in the western part of the city of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. It is a state university, which comes under the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is also recognised by the University Grant Commission, UGC, New Delhi.
