University of Sagar is also known as Dr. Hari Singh Gour University. The university is named after Hari singh Gour who founded this university on 18th July, 1946 before Independence. Dr. Hari Singh Gour University is the oldest university of Madhya Pradesh. Saugar University is the first university in Madhya Pradesh to receive the Grade ‘A’ by the (NAAC) National Assessment & Accreditation Council. Sagar University is placed amongst top rated universities of India.
