Alliance University was established under the aegis of Alliance Business School on August 2, 2010 by an enactment of the State Government of Karnataka, India. The University is established under Government of Karnataka’s Alliance University Act, 2010.

The University has multiple campuses. Alliance University is located on an extensive state-of- the-art campus on the Chandapura-Anekal road, Bangalore. Campus design and construction on an additional 105-acre land in Anekal is underway. The city campus of the University is located in BTM Layout, Bangalore

The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research is a relatively young but already well-known multidisciplinary research institute. It was established by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, to mark the birth centenary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It is located in Jakkur, Bangalore, India. Its mandate is to pursue and promote scientific research and training at the frontiers of science and engineering. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) is located in Bangalore, and is the premiere neuroscience institute of India. Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana or VYASA is an organization dedicates to the cause of development and popularizing of yoga in the modern society. Formerly it was known as Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VK YOGAS). Swami Vivekananda yoga Anusandhana Samsthana or SVYASA is the academic wing of VYASA. The aims of SVYASA is to incorporate yoga in the modern society by following scientific methods of research. Research is conducted mainly in the areas of medical, educational and other applications of yoga. Use of yoga in stress management is also an area of study. Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India has recognized SVYASA as "Scientific & Industrial Research Organization, (SIRO)" and the UGC has granted it the status of being a "Deemed University"

The University of Agricultural Sciences was established through an Act (No. 22) by the then Mysore government in 1963. Although the university came into existence on August 21 1964, a journey into the broad-lands of history reveals it to be a much older institution. It would perhaps not be an exaggeration to say that the university was conceived way back in 1899 in the form of an experimental farm of 30 acres.
