Chitkara University, Barotiwala, Solan was established in 2008 under Section 2 (f) of UGC Act 1956 by the Himachal Pradesh State Legislature under Himachal Pradesh Private Universities ( Establishment & Regulation ) Act 2006 . It is located at Barotiwala, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Right from the time of its inception the University has grown tremendously and is moving ahead to attain its goal of being the leading university in North India. Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) is located at Waknaghat which is in Himachal Pradesh, India. It has 7 departments offering various engineering graduate and under-graduate courses. This University mainly focuses on various graduate and under-graduate engineering courses

Almost 90% of the university’s total students live on-campus. Boarding capacity of the university is for about 1500 students. All the rooms are internetworked and provided with internet access. Each student is provided with a bed, an almirah, a rack & shelf and a study table. Food at the college mess - Annapurna - is available to students living on-campus without extra payment. National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (NIT Hamirpur) is located at Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh in India. Its is a public technical university which is funded by the Government of India. It runs graduate and under graduate programmes in Engineering and Architecture and Doctor of Philosophy programme in Engineering, Sciences and Humanities. It was established in 1986 as Regional Engineering College, Hamirpur. At that time it was a joint enterprise of the Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh. On 26th Jun 2002 REC, Hamirpur was awarded the status of of deemed-to- be university and upgraded into an NIT.
