The University is located at Kathgarh, the seat of the famous Lord Shiva temple, near village Mirthal, 25 Km from/ on Pathankot- Jalandhar Highway (NH-1A). Pathankot is well connected by Train/ Bus on Delhi- Jammu main line, to Amritsar, Jalandhar, Gurudaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ropar Jammu and Kangra, Dalhousie and Dharmasala. Pathankot is also connected by Air from Delhi.
The Central University of Himachal Pradesh has two campuses located in Dharamsala and Dera Gopipur, Himachal Pradesh, India. Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya or CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University (CSK HPKV) is an agricultural university located at Palampur in Himachal Pradesh in India.
CSK HP Agricultural University offers 11 courses and has 4 colleges under it. It was established in November 1978 as an expansion of the existing College of Agriculture established in May 1966.

This University was established in 1962 with its affiliation to Panjab University, Chandigarh.
