Central University of Kashmir

The Central University of Jammu and Kashmir is a university in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is one of 13 new central universities in Jammu and Kashmir established by the Central Universities Act, 2009. It currently offers five-year integrated programs, as well as postgraduate degrees in three areas: MA in English Language & Literature, MSc in Information Technology, and Master's in Business Administration. The current chairman of the First Executive Council is Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdul Wahid. Though the university was established by legislation in 2009, the campus has not been built yet and the university is still operating out of temporary facilities in Srinagar while planning and construction is underway.

University of Kashmir

Established in 1956, University of Kashmir is situated at Hazratbal on the side of Dal Lake in Srinagar. It is a UGC recognized university and it has also been awarded Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. It has two campuses, south campus is at Anantnag and north campus is at Baramulla. The university is spread over lush green area of over 263 acres. The peaceful environment, salubrious weather, and mountain scenery provide a highly congenial atmosphere for the philosopher's contemplation and the scientist's research. The University of Kashmir provides with comfortable and reasonable residential facilities to boys and girls in separate hostels. Apart from the departmental libraries, the University also serves with a central library, called Iqbal Library. The university is also promoting distance learning by offering undergraduate and post-graduate courses in distance learning. University of Kashmir has 11 faculty departments and offers more than 60 courses.
