Oriental Institute of Science & Technology came into existence in 1995. It is located in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. The institute is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal. Oriental Institute of Science & Technology is an integral part of Oriental Group of Institutes. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi. The institute imparts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of engineering, with postgraduate level course in computer applications. The courses are also accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Spread over 17.6 acres of land, Oriental Institute of Science & Technology has a number of modern facilities for the overall development of its students.
Rajiv Gandhi Technical University (RGTU), also known as University of Technology of Madhya Pradesh, is an Indian multi-campus affiliating university in Madhya Pradesh. It has campuses and affiliated colleges in Bhopal, Sagar, Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior etc.
The university was established as a common university for all the technical institutes, mainly including engineering and pharmacy colleges in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The university was named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. All the colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Science and Technology as well as the Polytechnics affiliated to various Universities and Boards of Technical Education are affiliated to the newly set up University of Technology.
