Barkatullah University is an Indian university in Bhopal, named after the great freedom fighter, Prof. Barkatullah, who was born there. It is the main university of the capital city and provides degrees to most of the non-technical colleges in and around Bhopal. Funded by state government, the university has a residential campus and serves as affiliating university for colleges of seven other districts. The university affiliates the colleges of Bhopal district and other neighbouring districts like Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul, Hoshangabad, Harda and Rajgarh. Barkatullah University has been accredited as a B category university by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, abbreviated IIITDM Jabalpur, is an IIIT and a Deemed University in Jabalpur that focuses on Design and Manufacturing.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology-Design and Manufacturing, was established in year 2005 by the Government of India under the Indian Societies Registration Act, for imparting skills to engineering students who can use IT in the field of Design and Manufacturing.

The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak has been established by an Act of the Parliament of India. It came into existence by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007 and came into action with the appointment of Prof. C. D. Singh as its first Vice-Chancellor on July 8th, 2008.

The jurisdiction of the University extends to the whole country and it is fully funded by the Central Government through the University Grant Commission. The university caters to the tribals’ long cherished dream of higher education.

Jiwaji University (JU) is an affiliating university situated in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. The name comes from that of George Jivajirao Scindia of Gwalior. The university was established on May 23, 1964 and Sarvapelli Radhakrishnan, the President of India, laid the foundation stone of the University Campus on December 11, 1964. It is fully accredited by the Indian government.

The University offers affiliation to institutions of higher learning in six districts of Gwalior and Chambal Division: Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Guna, Shivpuri and Datia. It started with 29 affiliated colleges and now more than 300 colleges are affiliated to it.

Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University (MPBOU) was established in 1991 under an act by the State Legislature. The University named after the renowned Raja Bhoj is the second largest open university in India.The objectives are common with those of any other open university. It is the aim of this university to spread and promote higher education among the underprivileged, and among those to whom conventional education has not reached. Education is imparted through the open and distance learning (ODL) mode.

Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal was found by Act 1990 of the Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh. It is not an Open University offering Distance Education. It does not offer education by correspondence. The University directs at growing excellent professionals with social message. Rajiv Gandhi Technical University (RGTU), also known as University of Technology of Madhya Pradesh, is an Indian multi-campus affiliating university in Madhya Pradesh. It has campuses and affiliated colleges in Bhopal, Sagar, Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior etc.

The university was established as a common university for all the technical institutes, mainly including engineering and pharmacy colleges in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The university was named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. All the colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Science and Technology as well as the Polytechnics affiliated to various Universities and Boards of Technical Education are affiliated to the newly set up University of Technology.

University of Sagar is also known as Dr. Hari Singh Gour University. The university is named after Hari singh Gour who founded this university on 18th July, 1946 before Independence.  Dr. Hari Singh Gour University is the oldest university of Madhya Pradesh.
