The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University-ICFAI University, Nagaland (hereinafter referred to as the University) was established under the provisions of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University (Nagaland) Act, 2006 (Act No. 2 of 2006), vide Notification No. HE/9-2/2004 (Vol.1) dated 19.06.2008 of the Government of Nagaland. The University is sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (Icfai), a not-for-profit educational society established in 1984 under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 F (Act No.1 of 1350F), with the objective of imparting training in finance and management to students, working executives and professionals in India. The university is located in Dimapur, Nagaland.

Nagaland University is a UGC recognized university, situated in Lumami, Kohima city of Nagaland state. It was established on September 6th, 1994. The University has 3 campuses situated at Lumami, Kohima and Medziphema. Lumami is the main campus and headquarter of the University. At present the University is functioning from its Kohima Campus as Interim Headquarters. Each University campus has its separate administrative and academic unit to manage educational affairs.

The Global Open University Nagaland

The Global Open University Nagaland was established under the Global Open University Act 2006 of the Government of Nagaland. The university has given the task by the government to provide vocational and job oriented education to the people of northeast in general and to Naga people in particular. The government of Nagaland has taken bold initiatives in strengthening the activities of The Global Open University, Nagaland for enabling the World Institution Building Programme (WIBP) to develop adequate infrastructure in Nagaland in general and at Wokha, Kohima and Dimapur in particular.
