Birla Institute of Technology and Science, also known as BITS Pilani is a renowned institution and Deemed to be University. It is a UGC recognised institution with its other campuses located at Dubai, Goa and Hyderabad. BITS Pilani is the first Indian institution to set up a campus outside India. Since its inception in 1929, BITS Pilani has provided the premier quality technical education to students coming from all over India. Kautilya Institute of Technology & Engineering & School of Management (KITE SOM), established in 2002, is located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. One of the prominent private engineering colleges in Jaipur, the institute is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. Malviya Regional Engineering College - MREC - Jaipur, is one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges established in the country by the Government of India. The college is a joint venture of the Government of India and the State Government of Rajasthan. It was established in the year of 1963 with a provision to start five year Bechelor of Engineering Programme in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Metallurgical Engineering.

The college is under the administrative control of a Board of Governors. It is financed by the Central Government and the State Government. The college is affiliated to the University of Rajasthan for the purpose of examination and the award of Degrees. This is otherwise an Autonomous college of the University of Rajasthan. The college was set up with the objective of providing facilities for higher education,research and training in various areas of engineering and technology.
