Birla Institute of Technology and Science, also known as BITS Pilani is a renowned institution and Deemed to be University. It is a UGC recognised institution with its other campuses located at Dubai, Goa and Hyderabad. BITS Pilani is the first Indian institution to set up a campus outside India. Since its inception in 1929, BITS Pilani has provided the premier quality technical education to students coming from all over India. Malviya Regional Engineering College - MREC - Jaipur, is one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges established in the country by the Government of India. The college is a joint venture of the Government of India and the State Government of Rajasthan. It was established in the year of 1963 with a provision to start five year Bechelor of Engineering Programme in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Metallurgical Engineering.
The college is under the administrative control of a Board of Governors. It is financed by the Central Government and the State Government. The college is affiliated to the University of Rajasthan for the purpose of examination and the award of Degrees. This is otherwise an Autonomous college of the University of Rajasthan.
