Amrapali Institute was established in year 1999 under the aegis of Modern Academy Society in Haldwani. There are four institutes under Amrapali Group of Institutions offering different courses:

• Amrapali Institute of Technology & Sciences (AITS)
• Amrapali Institute of Management & Computer Applications (AIMCA)
• Amrapali Institute of Hotel Management (AIHM)
• Amrapali Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS)

The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different fields of education. The courses offered by Amrapali Institute are affiliated with Kumaon University, Uttarakhand Technical University and Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education. The courses are AICTE and NCTE approved. The institute has state of the art infrastructure with the campus covering an area of 19acres. The institute has managed a good placement record in the short span of its existence. The Campus site is named 'Shiksha Nagar' and it consists of all Departments and Administrative Buildings such as the computer centre, library, park, hostel, etc.

Amrapali Institute of Technology & Sciences, which is located in Haldwani (Uttarakhand), is one of the integral parts of Amrapali Group of Institutions. College of Engineering & Technology is situated in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. It is a constituent college of Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya. The college admits students to its engineering courses (with four years duration), which are offered at the undergraduate degree level. These courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi. For the overall development of its students, the college has a wide range of basic amenities for them.

Dehradun Institute of Technology (DIT) is a premier technical institute established in 1998 by The Unison Group. It is the oldest self-financed professional institute of Uttarakhand. DIT offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in streams of Management, Engineering, Architecture, IT and Pharmacy. The courses offered by Dehradun Institute of Technology are approved by AICTE and accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Data Quest survey ranked DIT as 84th best institute in India and 2nd in Uttarakhand after IIT Roorkee. It is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institute since 2001. The institute has also has In-campus Training & Placement Cell. Dehradun Institute of Technology is situated in the picturesque Doon valley covering a vast expanse of 20acres. The institute has state of the art facilities like Wi-Fi campus, modern laboratories, 24 hour library facility, classrooms with LCD Projectors and separate hostels for boys and girls.

DIT Faculty of Architecture was established as a new Institute with state of art infrastructure facilities in the vicinity of DIT, Dehradun in 2005 with an intake of 40 students. The faculty is approved by Council of Architecture and AICTE with its affiliation to UP Technical University, Lucknow as well as the Uttaranchal Technical University, Dehradun. Faculty adheres to all the norms of the regulatory authorities to achieve academic and professional excellence. The faculty facilitates the students to learn Architecture through all mediums of practical nature in the environs of Himayalays on site studies, surveys & educational tours.

The Architecture Course was started at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in the year 1956-57. In the year 1961, the Department was housed in its own independent building and premises. The B.Arch. course was recognized by the Indian Institute of Architects in December 1961. The Department has the singular distinction of being the first in INDIA in instituting a Masters Degree course in Architecture (M. Arch.) in the year 1969-70. This was eventually raised to an independent course of Masters Degree in Urban and Rural Planning (MURP) in the year 1973-74. The Institute takes very special care in selecting students for admission to various academic programmes with the objective of providing technical education only to the best ones.

Govind Ballabh (GB) Pant Engineering College, which is located in Pauri Garhwali (Uttarakhand), is an autonomous engineering college of the state Government of Uttarakhand. It was established in 1989 with the vision of providing top quality education in the field of engineering to the people, particularly to those, who belong to the Garhwal region. Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun.

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is the oldest institute of technical education in Asia to award its own degrees. IIT Roorkee was established in year 1847 as Thomason College of Civil Engineering by the British. IIT Roorkee has been ranked No. 6 by India Today in the list of Top 25 Engineering colleges of India. IIT Roorkee has academic collaboration with University of Texas, National University of Singapore, University of Waterloo and Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

The institute has 18 Departments covering all major academic courses in engineering and science. The Institute offers 10 disciplines of Engineering and Architecture in Bachelor degree and in 55 disciplines of Engineering, Applied Sciences, Architecture and Planning in Postgraduate degree programme. Students to B.Tech and B.Arch. courses are admitted through Joint Entrance Exam (JEE). Admission to other courses is based on JAM, JMET, and GATE entrance exams. The world class Central Library of IIT Roorkee houses over 3,20,000 volumes of study material.

Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology & Science was established in year 1994 in Dehradun. The institute was founded by Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission with the monetary support of its parent body - Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai JI Maharaj, a 361 year old religious and philanthropic organization. The Institute started with two professional degree programmes – MBA and MCA. Other courses of different fields and departments were later added to the institute. The Institute is recognized by HNB Garhwal University and Uttarakhand Technical University. It is also approved by AICTE.

University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) is the specialised university for energy and oil sector studies. It is situated at Dehradun and has been established through an act of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand in the year 2003.
