Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya at Haridwar is one of the universities in the picturesque state of Uttarakhand. Graphic Era Institute of Technology Dehradun, now renamed Graphic Era University (GEU), is a college of premier institute of technical and management learning in Uttarakhand. It is located amidst the beautiful and serene surroundings of Rajaji National Park, Dehradun. Established in 2001, the institute is a member of The Association of Indian Universities. The technical courses offered in the institute are affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, while its academic courses are affiliated to HNB Garhwal University. GEU has now been declared as a Deemed-to-be-University. All courses of the institute have been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and Ministry of HRD, Government of India

Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya was established in year 1902 by Swami Shradhanandji. This educational institution was established with an aim to regain the ancient Indian Gurukul style of education. Wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses varying from ancient to modern education are offered by Gurukula Kangri University to cater to the educational needs of region. The university was given the status of deemed university in 1962 by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It has been awarded Four Star status by NAAC in 2002.

The university offers 22 undergraduate courses and 19 postgraduate courses. The university has good placement record with numerous business industries visiting the campus. For the upliftment of women a sister institution, Kanya Gurukula Mahavidyalaya was launched by Acharya Ramdevji in Dehradun in year 1922.

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, (formerly known as Garhwal University) is a public university located at Srinagar town in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand state in nortehrn India. Named after Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, the University is residential cum affiliating in nature, with jurisdiction over Garhwal district of the region. This University was established on 1 December 1973 as Garhwal University and in 1989, it was renamed as Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. In 2009, it became a Central University.
