G.H. Patel Post Graduate Institute of Business Management at Sardar Patel University, was established in 1982 with the help of a generous donation from Shri Gordhanbhai Hathibhai Patel with a view to impart professional management education and training to executives and personnel employed in various organizations in the vicinity of Vallabh Vidyanagar and Anand. The Institute initially offered five postgraduate diploma courses in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Personnel, Production and Business Management to cater to the requirements of business and industry.

Sardar Gunj Mercantile Cooperative Bank Ltd (Anand) English Medium College of Commerce and Management popularly known as SEMCOM was established in the year 1997 with the objective of imparting quality education to the students who desire to graduate in commerce and management. The college has been established by Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM), an educational trust with a vision of regeneration of society through education. The college is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar.

School of Computing and Mathematics signed agreement with SEMCOM, India.   Through the collaboration, graduating students from B.C.A., B.Com (IT), and B.B.A.  are welcomed to join MS in Computer Science program at GSW. Among other activities, student and faculty exchange program is fostered in the agreement. Such exchange programs can cultivate the international experience.
