The A.P University of Law, (APUL) was set up in Visakhapatnam, India in 2008 to create a generation of able and competent lawyers who would join the Bench and prestigious law firms across the globe. It was created by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly (Act No. 32 of 2008) with the main campus at Visakhapatnam and two centers, one each at Kadapa and Nizamabad. The University is fully residential and conducts teaching in law and allied disciplines. Their main emphasis is on practical training of the students in technical skills of the profession through Moot Courts, seminars, project reports, expert lectures, work in law chambers, court visits and conducting legal aid and legal literacy camps in rural areas. The course is designed to provide the students with a macro perspective of Indian Society, its problems and needs.

Andhra University is one of the older premier universities of India. It was established in 1925 and shared affiliation with Madras University in the initial years. Andhra University is the first university in India which offered an under graduate programme.

There are a total of 575 affiliated colleges of Andhra University, spread across the five districts under the territorial jurisdiction. There are more than 76,000 enrollment in undergraduate courses and 20,000 students in PG Courses. The university also runs a school of distance education which was started in 1972. Andhra University (AU) is a UGC recognized public university. The library of Andhra University was started in 1927. Initially named as Andhra University Library, it was renamed in year 1968 after the former Vice-Chancellor Dr. V.S.Krishna. The Library has two branch Libraries, one in Engineering College and other in Law College. The Library is housed in an imposing structure overlooking the sea.

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, GITAM University is the first private university in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was previously known as GITAM college. GITAM University was established in 1980 and it was one of premier colleges in the field of technical as well as management education. Now it stands first among all the institutions.
