Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic is a technical school in located in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal of India. Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic college is established in 1962. Haldia Institute of Technology started its journey in the year 1996 as the first self-financing and Govt. The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India (formerly the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur), was established under an Act of the Parliament of India in 1960 as one of the eight RECs. It is a fully funded technological institution of the government of India and is administered by an autonomous Board of Governors.

In 2010, NIT-Durgapur celebrated its Golden Jubilee (completing 50 years). The institute is one of the 14 RECs established between 1959 and 1965. The Minister In-charge of Higher Education of the W.B Govt. is the present Chairman of the Board which includes representatives from the Central and State Governments., AICTE, UGC, University of Burdwan, IIT Kharagpur, Industries and the Faculty.

The West Bengal University of Technology commonly referred to as WBUT or UTech, is a public state university located in suburban satellite township of Salt Lake City, Kolkata, West Bengal. The university primarily provides programs in multidisciplinary fields like science, technology and management.

Funded at the initial stages of its formation by the Government of West Bengal, the UTech is set to become a "Center of Excellence" in multidisciplinary science and technology areas of topical importance, in studies and research, in addition to providing adequate facilities for the pursuit of degree and advanced-level course in management, paramedical and other professional areas through its affiliated institutions.
