Institute of Technology (IT - BHU) is an engineering college of Banaras Hindu University. Established in year 1919, IT BHU is one of the oldest and best engineering schools of India. Institute of Technology BHU is a residential and co-educational institute, situated in the holy city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The degree courses in the complex fields of Ceramics, Metallurgy, Mining, and Pharmaceutics in India was first initiated at BHU.
Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University is ranked No. 11 by India Today in the list of Top 25 Engineering colleges of India. ITBHU is also ranked as 6th best Engineering college of India by recent Outlook Survey. Admission to undergraduate courses at ITBHU is done through IIT-JEE and to postgraduate courses is through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
